Royal Haskoning are appointed under a Specialist Term Commission with Defence Estates (a procurement arm of the UK Ministry of Defence) for the provision of advisory services for maritime facilities. The commission is for a five year duration and relates to all port and maritime infrastructure and facilities owned by the UK Government.
Projects undertaken to date under this commission have been located at HMNB Portsmouth, HMNB Gibraltar, and Marchwood Military Port.
Royal Haskoning has acquired a considerable knowledge of the UK's Naval Bases and other military establishments, following many years of working at these locations.
This knowledge and expertise is now being applied to great benefit in the provision of specialist advice under this Term Commission.
The firm has undertaken condition surveys of existing facilities (both above and below water), feasibility studies, preliminary design of jetties and fendering systems, and has produced record drawings from the firms' archives.
The firm has also prepared an Environmental Scoping Study for a major maritime development at Portsmouth.
